Terms & Conditions for Training and Courses

1. Eligibility and Registration

  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age (or 21 years of age as required by Maryland law for certain courses) and possess a valid government-issued photo ID.

  • Registration is required prior to participation. Enrollment is confirmed upon successful registration and receipt of deposit.

  • By enrolling, participants affirm they are legally eligible to possess and operate a firearm under Maryland and federal laws.

2. Course Attendance

  • Attendance at all scheduled sessions is mandatory for course completion and certification.

  • Late arrivals or missed classes may result in forfeiture of certification and fees.

3. Safety Compliance

  • Safety is paramount. All participants must follow the range safety rules and the instructor’s directions at all times.

  • Participants must wear appropriate attire, including ear and eye protection as required.

  • Any unsafe behavior, including but not limited to intoxication, aggression, or noncompliance, will result in immediate removal from the course without refund.

4. Course Requirements

  • Certain courses (e.g., Maryland Handgun Qualification License, Maryland Wear and Carry) have additional Live Fire Qualification or requirements.  

  • Iron Sight Safety provides certified training. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they meet all legal conditions when submitting application materials to the Maryland State Police to include successful submission of live scan fingerprinting, background checks, and any other state requirements.

5. Payment and Refund Policy

  • Registration and payment of a deposit is required before any participant begins any training for any course.

  • Full payment is required before any participant begins any in-person training for any course.

  • Cancellations will not be accommodated. No refunds will be issued. Rescheduling will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • In the event of course cancellation by Iron Sight Safety, a full refund or rescheduling option will be provided.

6. Liability Waiver

  • By participating, you acknowledge that the use of firearms carries inherent risks. You voluntarily assume all responsibility for personal injury, property damage, or other liabilities arising from your participation.

  • You release Iron Sight Safety, its instructors, employees, and affiliates from any claims or liability arising from the course.

7. Confidentiality and Privacy

  • Personal information collected during registration is used solely for course administration and certification purposes. We do not sell or share your information with third parties.

8. Course Certification

  • Completion certificates will be issued to participants who successfully fulfill all course requirements, including demonstrated competency and passing any required qualification or assessments.

  • Certification does not guarantee approval of application for firearm permits or licenses by any government agency.

9. Code of Conduct

  • Respectful behavior is expected at all times. Participants should exhibit a positive and cordial attitude when interacting with staff and other participants.  Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Participants are responsible for any damage caused to the training facility or equipment.

10. Amendments

  • Iron Sight Safety reserves the right to update these terms and conditions. Updated terms will be communicated to current participants and posted on our website.

11. Discounts and Special Offers: Small Group Special discount applies to new participants only. A $100 discount will be applied to the fees of new participants registering with a minimum of four additional new participants. Duplicate names are not allowed, and the discount does not apply to anyone previously registered. All names must be noted on the registration for discount to apply. Please contact info@ironsightsafety.com to schedule any discounted Small Group Special course. Offer not valid for any courses with a standard cost of less than $200. Offer valid for a limited time and subject to change without notice.

Definitions
Below are key terms and their definitions for Iron Sight Safety Firearms Training Courses.

​Participant

An individual enrolled in a firearms training course provided by Iron Sight Safety.

 

Eligibility

The requirements a participant must meet to enroll, including being of legal age (18 or 21 as applicable) and legally eligible to possess and operate a firearm in Maryland and under federal law.

Registration

The formal process of enrolling in a course, including submission of personal information, payment of deposit, and confirmation of enrollment by Iron Sight Safety.

 

Course Attendance

Mandatory attendance of all scheduled sessions in order to complete the course and receive certification.

​

Safety Compliance

Following all range safety rules, instructor directions, and wearing proper attire including ear and eye protection at appropriate times during the course.

 

Unsafe Behavior

Any actions that endanger oneself or others, including but not limited to intoxication, aggression, failure to follow safety protocols, or mishandling firearms.

 

Course Requirements

Specific expectations or components of a course, such as successful completion of live fire qualification, assessments, or submission of documentation required for licensing.

Payment

The process of paying the necessary fees, including deposits and final payments, to secure enrollment and begin training.

​

Refund Policy

Iron Sight Safety’s policy on cancellations and refunds, stating that cancellations are generally non-refundable, except in cases where the course is canceled by Iron Sight Safety.

Liability Waiver

A legal release in which participants acknowledge the inherent risks associated with firearms training and release Iron Sight Safety, its instructors, and staff from liability for any injury or damage.

Confidentiality and Privacy

The assurance that personal information collected for registration and certification is used solely for these purposes and is not shared with third parties.

 

Certification

A document issued upon successful completion of the firearms training course. This does not guarantee approval of applications for firearm permits or licenses by state or federal agencies.

Code of Conduct

A set of behavioral expectations requiring respectful interaction with staff and other participants and prohibiting harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior. Participants are also responsible for any damage caused to facilities or equipment.

 

Amendments

Updates or revisions to the course terms and conditions. Iron Sight Safety will communicate any changes to participants and post updated terms on the website.

 

Maryland State Police

The state agency responsible for approving applications for firearm permits and licensing requirements. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they meet all requirements, including background checks and fingerprinting.
